Hillary Clinton seemed to have nearly every celebrity in her corner during the presidential election. But it looks like Donald Trump had at least one famous backer: family friend and fellow hotel mogul Paris Hilton.

Hilton confirmed her vote while promoting her new fragrance on the Australian TV show The Project. She was asked about Trump, who wrote a glowing endorsement of her on the back of her book, Confessions of an Heiress. “I’ve known him my entire life, and he’s always been incredibly supportive of me, so I’m very proud to have that on my book,” she said. She then was asked if she voted for him; at first, she simply laughed it off, but then said she did vote for Trump. “I’ve known him since I was a little girl, so, yes,” she said.

Previously, Hilton had kept quiet about her vote. TMZ asked her point blank on Nov. 8 and she wouldn’t say a word, noting, “My mother taught me never to talk about politics or money.”

The families have indeed been friends for a long time but that doesn’t mean Paris’s vote was a guarantee. In fact, her name came up during the election as an example of one of the many ways Trump objectified women and girls. People notes that in 2003, Trump told Howard Stern that he found 12-year-old Hilton attractive. “Now, somebody who a lot of people don’t give credit to but in actuality is really beautiful is Paris Hilton,” he said. “I’ve known Paris Hilton from the time she’s 12, her parents are friends of mine, and the first time I saw her she walked into the room and I said, ‘Who the hell is that?’”

“Did you wanna bang her?” Stern asked. “Well, at 12, I wasn’t interested,” Trump responded. “I’ve never been into that … but she was beautiful.” He also said that he had watched her infamous sex tape, even though he had known her since she was a little girl. “I have seen it. Melania showed it to me,” he said. “I think it’s probably unfortunate and it made Paris hotter in terms of the world. Because the world is so screwed up … but I think it probably made Paris even better.”
