Heading out to watch some sports is a great way of enjoying an evening of entertainment and excitement. Yet, if this is something that you haven’t done often in the past then you might wonder how you should dress for the occasion.
There are a few points to bear in mind that will help you to make a smart decision. By taking each of them into account, you can feel great as you follow all of the action going on in front of you.
Consider Your Comfort
It is important to remember that you will be sitting in a seat for quite a long time once the action starts. The average NFL game runs for over 3 hours, while an NBA game will usually run for up to 2 and a half hours. NHL matches can also go on for up to 2 and a half hours.
This means that you need to choose clothing that lets you feel comfortable even when you are sitting in the same place for a long time. If you use clothes that are too tight then you might end up feeling awkward or even sore.
There will be some opportunities to stand up and move around. However, if the event is very crowded then you might find that it is more difficult to do this than you had expected it to be. You will feel a lot happier knowing that you can spend a long time sitting down with no problems.
Check the Weather Forecast
A lot of the football season takes place during the cooler months of the year, as the NFL season runs during fall. The NFL preseason schedule can be better in terms of weather, as it starts during the end of the summer.
If you are in touch with the NFL odds, then you know most of these stadiums are outdoors too, with only 8 of the 32 teams having a domed stadium. Add in the fact that games traditionally kick off in the evening to see that it could be a chilly experience.
All of this adds up to mean that you will probably need to wrap up quite well. Remember that you will be sitting still for long periods as well. If you don’t wear warm enough clothes then you may end up suffering and simply longing for the whole thing to end as soon as possible.
All professional basketball games are played indoors in the US. However, there is no standard temperature that all stadiums need to stick to. For instance, some teams have been rumored to prefer to keep their arenas either colder or hotter than others.
NHL matches are played indoors but in a colder environment. The ice on the rink has to stay at around 24 to 26 degrees Fahrenheit. Even if it’s a nice day outside, you will need to put on an extra layer or two if you are going to see an ice hockey match.
Choose Your Colors Wisely
Perhaps the biggest dilemma that sports fans face is in deciding what colors to wear to a game. So do you choose clothing that matches the colors of your team or not? This is clearly a personal choice for you to make.
Some people prefer to wear a replica top, while others choose normal clothing that sort of matches the team’s colors. Another option is to simply choose neutral colors that don’t match the team’s outfits at all.
One thing to avoid is wearing clothes that look too much like the rival team’s colors or the outfits of a team that isn’t even playing. By sticking to neutral color schemes you can simply wear great clothes without feeling out of place at all.
